"a patient or primary care-giver"

http://www.michie.com/colorado/lpext.dll?f=FifLink&t=document-frame.htm&...

It's right there in our Constitution. Article 18 section 14.

A primary care-giver is to be designated by the patient, not the state. Legislators and jurists please remember this fact. Patients won't tolerate unreasonable restrictions on their caregiver of choice. The medicine doesn't grow itself and it takes a skilled hand and great patience to reliably bring crops to fruition.

Society hasn't collapsed; our morals haven't decayed.  If things stay on track we will have 100,000 voting Colorado patients by June.  There are maybe half a million patient-eligibles still wondering if they should get their card.

The November 2011 odd-year election brings new attempts to push Local Options or tax measures in 8 cities and 1 county.

Roughly 27 centers and 11 IPM licensees are on the chopping block in Oak Creek, Palisade, Steamboat Springs, Fort Collins and the whole of Routt County. All are voting on local options which would close their existing facilities, ending safer local access to medicine for the 12,000 patients represented in these areas. Almost 10% of the registry stands to lose local access to marijuana through MMCs during this election season.

One common theme in the editorial pages and article comments over the past couple years has been derisively describing medical marijuana users as "dopers" "stoners" and other perjoratives, implying we're a bunch of irresponsible illegal drug users. A common tactic is calling dispensary customers "stoned-looking 20-somethings" when the statistics actually show the average age of licensees to be about 40.
