Temporary zoning policy to stay in effect through Oct. 31 Rachel Alexander 4/14/2010 The Board of County Commissioners voted Tuesday to extend temporary zoning regulations on medical marijuana dispensaries through Oct. 31. The extension was made following a public hearing concerning the regulations that were established one month ago as a stop-gap while the state legislators determine what statewide regulations will be put into place. Commissioners heard from five community members, three against the regulations and two for them.

Rachel Alexander 3/10/2010 On Tuesday, the Fremont County Commissioners approved temporary zoning regulations for medical marijuana dispensaries. A public meeting will be at 10 a.m. April 13 to determine if the regulations will be continued. The regulations allow new dispensaries in business zones and rural highway business zones without additional special use permits. The businesses will not be allowed within 500 feet of any school, child care center, family child care home, public park, drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility; or 1000 feet of another dispensary.
