RACHEL ALEXANDER 1/6/2012 A man with admitted gang affiliations was arrested late Wednesday after a Cañon City Police Sergeant stopped to assist with a broken down vehicle. Francisco Salazar, 29, of Cañon City, was arrested on suspicion of misuse of license plates, possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of an illegal weapon.

Florence extends medical marijuana moratorium to 2011 Rachel Alexander 6/22/2010 The Florence City Council voted Monday to extend the city’s temporary moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries until July 1, 2011. The council originally passed a 90-day moratorium in October 2009 and voted to extend it to June 30 in December. According to the council’s ordinance passed Monday, legal challenges are expected against House Bill 1284, which the state Legislature passed this session.
