GRAND JUNCTION - The unofficial results are in and voters in Grand Junction made their choice to ban medical marijuana dispensaries within city limits. The polls closed at 7:00 p.m. and the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's Office has tallied the votes. 56.6% of votes counted are for the ordinance to ban dispensaries within city limits. 41.4% are against the ordinance.

Colt Davidson, 20, James Sargent, 43, Kristy Spry, 32, Jordan Hice,20, and Luis Villapando, 23, were contacted by authorities at an apartment on Glenwood Avenue for suspicion of drug activity.

The meeting comes after the City Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the permit. Tami Brehse 8/26/2010 PALISADE - A Palisade dispensary got the go ahead this week to grow marijuana next door to its shop. The Palisade Town Board approved a conditional use permit to allow Colorado Alternative Healthcare to grow their own product. The business needed the permit because growing pot would be considered an agricultural use and the area is in a town-center zone.
