Greenway University, a vocational school that previously offered classes in various temporary spaces in Colorado, California and New Jersey, will open a location in Denver near I-25 and West Alameda Ave. on August 1st. Greenway is the first medical marijuana university to be approved by a state department of higher education and CEO Gus Escamilla said he hopes the school will help change the social stigma regarding medical marijuana.

The new campus will be located near Interstate 25 and Alameda. The vocational school was approved by the Colorado Department of Higher Education. They say it operates inside the state's new medical marijuana rules. It could make Denver the center of the country for marijuana education. "We provide education, information, compliance training, an entire business curriculum," Greenway University founder Gus Escamilla said.

He was ready to build the "premier worldwide medical marijuana training facility," but he couldn't find a landlord willing to work with him. But those problems are over. According to Escamilla, Greenway's finally got a home -- and it's also received the blessing of Colorado's Department of Higher Education, making it "the first officially licensed and regulated medical marijuana university that we know of in the history of our industry."
